"If students are concerned about pricing, we welcome their feedback," a university spokesperson wrote Feb. 6 in response to my inquiry about Swoop-N-Go’s prices.
According to Sodexo’s contract with UT-Tyler, it must provide services at specified campus food service locations (including the convenience store) and ''pursuant to...written menus...approved by [the] University's Representative in advance.''
However, the University replied, ''The Sodexo agreement gives the University the contractual right, but not the obligation, to pre-approve pricing in the convenience store,'' but it does not pre-approve pricing at this time. Administration welcomes student feedback about Swoop-N-Go’s prices.
Student Body President Chloe Dix did not respond to a request for comment about what feedback she has given to administration.
